5 LIP SCRUBS FOR A PERFECT POUT

Table of Contents

Many of us can relate: chapped lips are a real nightmare. And thanks to those pesky dry flakes, lipstick is a total no-go! Not even your favorite lipstick can conceal those dead skin cells. That's why we've rounded up 5 amazing lip scrubs to get your pout soft, perfectly smooth, and ready to rock those matte lipsticks again!

Just as a facial scrub restores radiance to your skin, a lip scrub brings life back to your mouth and gives it a clearer contour. Freed from dead skin and cells, your lips are ready to receive treatments and makeup, which will be more successful and last longer. To achieve this, I will advise you on five scrubs for your future beautiful lips.

THE TRADITIONAL SCRUB

First and simplest tip: buy a scrub at a supermarket. Be careful not to choose a body scrub, but rather a facial scrub. It will be more suitable for your lips and, most importantly, less aggressive. You can also opt for a specific lip exfoliant; several brands offer them. They are quite effective but often come at a high cost.

THE SUGAR AND HONEY SCRUB

For a more natural, less aggressive, and especially less expensive scrub, try a mixture of sugar and honey. Sugar allows you to obtain a grainy texture, very effective for scrubbing your dry lips. If you don't particularly like these ingredients, there are variations. For example, you can replace sugar with baking soda or oat flour, or replace honey with olive oil. You can also use sugar alone.

THE TOOTHBRUSH SCRUB

I want to clarify that this method is quite aggressive and not suitable for all lips. Indeed, our lips are delicate, and this type of scrub can be irritating. Therefore, opt for a so-called 'soft' toothbrush, designed for people with gum problems. Then, run your brush under lukewarm water. This will allow you to apply this method without fear of completely damaging your lips.

THE COTTON PAD SCRUB

For this method, soak a cotton pad with very warm water. Squeeze it out a bit, then place it on your lips for a few minutes. The water and heat will soften the small flakes of skin. The more you soften the small flakes, the easier and gentler they will detach, without damaging your lips. Finally, lightly rub the cotton pad over your lips. Your small flakes of skin will come off on their own!

THE MASK SCRUB

A scrub-mask is a method that involves applying a thick layer of lip balm to your lips for about twenty minutes. Once your skin is well softened, wipe your lips with a tissue. Miracle: all your small flakes of skin come off with it! Enjoy perfectly smooth and very soft lips. Be careful, however, as this technique does not work with all balms, only the most hydrating and nourishing ones.
